An interview with the current president of Dir en grey New Mexico Street Team, cadkitten:

1. Tell us a little something about the community.

Dir en grey National Goals:

The 'Official Bit':

The goal of the Dir en grey National Street Teams is to unite the fans and show Dir en grey just how dedicated we really are to them.

We want to show them that when they come to the US, we will do everything possible to make sure we can see them and to promote them.

The 'Unofficial Bit' (about the NM Street Team in particular):

Basically, if there's a show in New Mexico (or a show in a neighboring state that we'll be attending), we provide all the information we can about various things to do with it: venue info, rules, updates, ticket purchasing places, hotels nearby, even the location of food, etc. for people who need it.

At the concert itself, we represent the street team by trying to keep relative peace in the lines, help newbies or people that don't know what to do about certain things (which nearby businesses will let people in line use their bathrooms, etc.).

Outside of that, we try to promote Dir en grey as hard as we can, wherever we are. NM is our 'target' area, but we also try to help out everywhere else as well. After all, any promotion for the band is help in the right direction!

And, of course, we provide updates from all relevant sources in one handy place (usually by bulletin), as well as concert reviews, pictures, and more!

2. How many members do you have?

Currently 615 friends on our myspace group and 36 Followers on Twitter.

3. When did your community start?

2008

4. Where is the community based (Asia, America, Europe, etc.)?

New Mexico, USA

5. What language do you prefer use?

English

6. What are you particularly proud about your community?

Currently we are the most active Dir en grey National Street Team and we're very proud of that fact. We're doing all we can to deliver Dir en grey to the masses. One day we hope it's enough that Dir en grey will make us one of their regular US stops.

7. Why Dir en grey?

In short: for the emotions.

8. Among your members rate the popularity of each Deg member.

We love them all equally and respect them as both musicians and fellow human beings.

9. Do you have any interesting activities in your community? Please tell us about it.

Concert reviews, legal photos, and hopefully at some point a contest of some kind!

10. Can you tell us something about the members of your community?

They're all very exciting people with a wide range of experiences and tastes.

11. What do you wish seeing more from your community?

More people from New Mexico joining to support the music they love!

12. How long did you know about OC.com? What do you think of the site?

Have been a member since before the site move. Absolutely love the fact that OC has translations nowhere else has.

13. Message to OC readers wanting to join your community

Anyone, from anywhere, is welcome to join. In particular if you're from New Meixico or one of the neighboring states, please come and join and help us toward our goals!

14. Tell us a little about yourself. (Handle, Position, What you do in the community)

I'm cadkitten (also known as Dark Avenger) and I am the president of the street team. I run the overall team and maintain the myspace page, keeping it up to date.

15. Has Dir en grey ever had a concert in your area? (When, Where, etc.) OR Share a memorable moment about Dir en grey in your community.

August 16, 2006, Dir en grey was in Albuquerque, NM for Family Values Tour. For me, cadkitten, it was the concert that made me fall in love with Dir en grey completely. Meeting Die and Kaoru right after was a total blast.

16. Just a random question: How much do we need to pay you to throw a brick in a panda's face?

No amount of money would get us to do that!
