Item 5
Scream For The Truth

The band has launched a new site, containing an open letter to Japan and the world, asking for truth and transparency in the ongoing Fukushima disaster.  At the same time, they placed a billboard ad in Times Square, New York, USA advertising the site.
Whatever cynicism that may exist regarding this site and the promotion of the band as they address Japan’s mute political machine, we ask that you take a moment to consider their message. For a band – indeed, for almost anyone who is not involved directly in politics – to continue to raise questions about internal Japanese problems in an international forum is almost unheard of. It’s impossible to know the short and long term implications of their actions. It takes a great deal of courage to continue to raise questions in this situation.
We urge you to consider the matter-of-fact way that they accept that residents of Fukushima, Tokyo, and Japan on the whole have been poisoned, and that radiation levels as far away as Tokyo are still a matter of debate.  We ask that you think about what a ban on travel and commerce would mean to one of the world’s largest economies, an important trading partner, and simply the home to so many. Consider, too, that Fukushima is not a tiny, forgotten prefecture in a far-off country, but ground zero for nuclear radiation that travels as the wind does, and that continues, like its cousin Chernobyl, to threaten an even larger disaster if containment fails and meltdowns continue.  The global implications of Fukushima are greater than one country, and the world has a right to know the truth about what is really happening there.

Item 6
Kyoto Concert Ticket

As the result of a terrible brainfail on our part, it turns out our concert ticket is for the 15th of October (Saturday). If you can be in Kyoto then, and want a ticket for the fanclub live, please let us know!
